Requirements for Playground Contractors : 

A project involving construction is likely to require permits.
A variety of permits are required at the Federal, State, and County levels. The process of identifying and obtaining the necessary permits can be fairly involved, depending on the complexity, impacts, location, and sensitivities associated with the project.
Requirements are constantly changing with changes in laws and regulations at the Federal, State, and County levels. Only by contacting (and staying in contact with) the actual permitting entities can one have accurate information on the permits required for a specific project.
An “Institutional and Commercial Equipment Contractor’s Classification (C-25) license is also required to install playground equipment. This requires:
  • A completed application
  • Financial statements
  • Surety bond
  • Worker’s compensation and liability insurance
